CUzco

Cuzco is the tourist capital of Peru. It was the center of the Inca Empire and serves as the gateway to Machu Picchu. We haven't been back since 2009, so come visit and we'll hike the Inca Trail together.

Colca Canyon

The Colca Canyon is one of the deepest canyons on Earth. It's home to traditional highland villages, lots of terraced farming, thermal springs, the condor, and, of course, the canyon itself. Katie and I visited the Colca in early 2013. We stayed with Guillermina (pictured below in native dress), her family, and their pet falcon “Peter.”

Mollendo

(pronounced “Moyendoh”)

Mollendo is Arequipa's closest access to the Pacific Ocean. It's a town of about 30,000 people and a summer vacation spot for thousands more starting on New Year's Eve and continuing through February. Katie and I beat the crowds by spending Christmas 2014 there.
